An Hard Saying

John 6:60 records, "Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it?"  During the earthly ministry of Jesus, there were times when what He said countered the logical, rational, and established ways of thinking or doing.  When these words of instruction or commandment are heard through fleshly ears, they seem hard or difficult to comprehend.  Nevertheless, the words of Jesus are to be received and understood through spiritual ears.
